{this moment}...from the vaults

Inspired by Soule Mama:
"A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see."

I feel like I have to comment on this one. I was looking for a different picture a few days ago, a few of my folders (from WAY back in the day) are not so organized and as I browsed through I found this one and just felt it needed posting. Please take note of the apron cape...I think the floral nicely offsets the yellow in the Batman utility belt and rubber chicken. Yes, rubber chicken. Oh sweet baby L...my how you've grown...

Happy weekend...

::right now::

I've been noticing, on blogs here and there lately, the desire to bring ourselves into the moment...to not overlook the little things every day that may make us so very happy, or even send us hiding under the covers. Chances are those little things will mean the world to us as time passes and we grow, and our children grow, and the world changes. So with inspiration, once again, from Soule Mama specifically and from the lovely world of crafty, earthy, mama bloggers in general....

right now, I am....

::wishing for warmer weather, ready for Spring and the smell of thawing soil and the signs that Mother Nature is ready for another growing season.

::planning our menu for the week...not my least favorite task, as tasks go, but still....perhaps I should be wishing for a personal shopper instead of Spring..

::dreaming of things made by hand and etsy shops not yet built...

::feeling very grateful for all of the things we do have, and reminding myself not to dwell too long on the things we do not...

::loving that my big 'grown up' 4 (soon to be 5) year old still comes to me and says "mama, will you snuggle with me?"

::thinking about all of the reorganizing I want to do around this house and...

::wanting to take a nap instead.

::thankful to have been able to stay home with my babies and..

::wondering how it can be possible that my littlest 'baby' could be ready to start kindergarten next year? Just the thought of registering him is enough to put me on the verge of tears. What in the world am I going to do with myself solo 5 mornings a week?? Best go back to thinking about that etsy shop I think....

::hoping for an easy Monday, a snow free and quick week...because it's Monday and I'm ready for the weekend...

Happy Monday.....

A new gig!

The lovely Shannan, one of the c0-founders of Family Friendly Cincinnati, has asked me to be a contributor on the Family Friendly site and I am thrilled! To be honest, she asked over a month ago but crazy holiday season madness prevented me from doing much of anything besides that "life" thing that gets in the way of blogging.

However now that the holidays are done I've finally found time to contribute, thereby making myself feel worthy of the invitation to be a part of the Family Friendly world. My first post just went live today and I'd love it if you moseyed over and checked it out!

Family Friendly Cincinnati was created by a group of women bloggers (aka Mommy bloggers) who love to share the fun, educational and interesting things they find to do in and around Cincinnati. They'll keep you up to date on the latest goings on, make sure you are in the loop on special programs for your kids, let you know about story times, local festivals, fun family friendly restaurants...just about anything you want to know about the Cincinnati area!

For my first post my Oldest and I had a date, of sorts, and checked out a local restaurant that's new to the area...Tom+Chee! If you are a grilled cheese connoisseur like my Big Guy then you need to check out the post over at Family Friendly Cincinnati..and if you are in the Cincinnati area please do yourself a favor and go to Tom+Chee and taste the magic for yourself!!!

Lucky!

I've been very lucky...I've been the happy winner of several wonderful giveaways all across the blog world since I began this little blog of mine. I've won beautiful paper suns, lovely handmade notecards, lovely handmade yarn animals with even more lovely handspun yarn, snack taxis, tickets to a great kids show....honestly, I've had great giveaway karma and I am SO thankful!!

Recently I entered a 12 days of Christmas giveaway at Jar of Vintage Buttons...and won yet again!! The talented Jessica at Wildcatgal generously donated a handmade wooden letter sign to be given away on the Jar of Vintage Buttons blog and I got Lucky enough to win!! Isn't it darling?

(not the best pic, no sun here today and doubt we'll have any at any time soon!)

This little "N" will be heading off to Georgia very shortly to hang in the nursery of sweet newborn Baby N (and if you are Baby N's mother reading this post please pretend to be surprised when you get this! ;) My dear friend and her new peapod were the first ones I thought of when I saw these adorable little letter signs. If you peruse Jessica's blog you'll find many more letter signs, each one cuter than the last!

Head over to Jar of Vintage Buttons and check out her craftiness as well..and if you live in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area keep your eyes open for the first ever Birds of a Feather Fair...a crafting fair being organized by the lady behind Jar of Vintage Buttons and her crafty friend! How exciting!!

Now it's time for me to pay it forward yet again..so keep your eyes out for a giveaway to be posted here sometime next week!!

COSI for Free!!!

I am still trying to get all of my ducks in a row here after a long holiday vacation to Florida and Disneyworld.....great trip, Looong trip, glad to be home!

My dear friend Katie at the little things blog is super busy though...she's giving away tickets to COSI in Columbus, Ohio!! COSI's newest exhibit is called Geckos: Tails to Toepads and she has a family 4 pack of tickets to give away to one lucky family!

I'm seriously coveting these tickets for my own family....we've been talking about a day trip to check out COSI for years now it just keeps getting put on the back burner...so really I should be keeping this to myself. However in the spirit of the recent holiday season I wanted to share the chance to win with all of you!

Head over to Katie's blog and check out the giveaway. While you are there check out the rest of her blog...she shares delicious pics of her kids and gorgeous recipes as well! No I didn't mess that up, her kids are delicious, and the food always looks gorgeous! ;) Plus she is one crafty Mama!!

Good luck!!
